<p>The Geological Society Fall Meeting and the Maine Metallic Minerals Conference will be held on Friday November 9th at the Black Bear Inn in Orono. The Metallic Minerals Conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Society&#8221;s fall busines s meeting will follow the conference presentations, followed by a cash bar reception. <p>The annual GSM summer field trip will be held at Mt. Blue State Park on the weekend of August 3rd &#8211; 5th, and the trips will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we will hike Bald Mountain (Washington Plantation) led by Doug Reusch to exa mine the outstanding bedrock exposures along the ascent. Recent [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Thanks to Kevin McCartney, David Putnam and Chunzeng Wang, the Geology/Ecology Club, and the rest of our friends at UMPI for arranging our spring meeting at Presque Isle. We had a very successful panel discussion on professional activities and employment by Liz Champeon and Cliff Lippitt. <p>Many thanks to the University of Maine for hosting a successful spring meeting. The meeting was very well attended, and we recognize Dan Belknap for his organizational efforts. Chris Gerbi was the keynote speaker, drawing everyone’s interest to the connections between rheology and a host of geologic processes with his aesthetic and intriguing pictures of [&hellip;]</p>
