s meeting will follow the conference presentations, followed by a cash bar reception. Lunch and an after meeting dinner will be available with prior registration. Details and registration information are below.

Program Schedule: The Geological Society of Maine, in cooperation with the University of Maine School of Earth and Climate Sciences and the Maine Geological Survey, will host the Maine Metallic Minerals Conference on November 9, 2012, at the Black Bear Inn in Orono, Maine. This day-long conference will include presentations on the geology and mineral potential of Maine, the history of non-ferrous metal exploration and mining in the state, land ownership and access to the land base, surface and mineral owner perspectives, and current mining and reclamation techniques. The Geological Society of Maine will conduct its fall business meeting after the conference presentations, followed by a cash bar reception. Program registration:

  • The program is free to current members of the GeologicalSociety of Maine who are current in dues standing for the year 2012.

  • The program is also free for students with a school id.

  • Non Geological Society of Maine members registration is $25

  • Registration Formsare available for downloading. Print one out, fill it in, and send it off with your payment tothe address on the form , or fax to 207-581-2202 and make your payment by Visa or Master Card.

Meals:

  • Paid meal registration must be received by October 31,2012.Meal tickets will not be availableat the door.Other food options areavailable nearby the conference center for late registrants.

  • The first 30 students to register by October 29 will receivea free ticket to the onsite lunch.

  • Lunch: sandwich buffet, cookies, coffee, tea, sodas. ($20)

  • Dinner: Grilled NY Strip Steak, Grilled Salmon, or EggplantParmesan with potato, salad, dessert, coffee or tea. ($35)
