<p>The summer field trip (July 27-28, 2019) will give you a chance to learn about Western Maine Pegmatites (3 quarries will be visited)&nbsp; and the surficial geology of the Ellis River Valley.&nbsp; Myles Felch of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum has put together a very interesting 2 day trip.&nbsp; You will have the opportunity [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The deadline to submit an abstract has been extended to April 3rd &#8211; still time to submit! Presque Isle still has lots and lots and lots of snow. Head up early to spend couple of hours cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the world-class Nordic Heritage Center or Aroostook State Park or alpine-skiing at Bigrock Mountain. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>GSM Fall Meeting, November 17, Augusta Civic Center  &lt;See program&gt; &nbsp; Our Fall Meeting this year will feature presentations from people who work with Maine&#8217;s mineral resources from a variety of perspectives.  There will be presentations by economic geologists, exploration geologists, aggregate producers, environmental regulators, and a researcher into public perceptions about mining in Maine.  [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Again as in the past 10 years, Alison Jones and Fred Beck will be leading an 8-day rafting trip of about 188 miles through the Grand Canyon.   Many GSM members have made this trip in the past, some going twice.  The trip begins at Lee’s Ferry, Arizona, and ends at Whitmore Wash followed by a [&hellip;]</p>
